We had a great show, we had the chance to catch up with a lot of friends and see what's new in the market, besides the Twist, of course.
Speaking of the devil, Twist was a great success! lots and lots of orders. Get ready to see it at your local yarn shop starting October!

Columbus

we arrived (finally) at Columbus for the TNNA show. We had a much longer than expected flight, because there was a thunderstorm in Dallas and the plane had to land in San Antonio, TX to refuel before attempting to land in Dallas.
Of course the airport was a mess, but we were very lucky as our connecting flight to Columbus was also delayed so we did not have to book a new flight, the plane was kind of waiting to us!

It seems that this is going to be a very exciting show, lots of new things, we are introducing the Malabrigo Twist, a new bulky yarn, with several plies in 30 colors.

This Friday night is the Fashion show, where we will be displaying a garment designed by Knitter's Magazine, and tomorrow the hard work begins!

Atlanta II

The next day we went visiting Atlanta, we stopped by Strings and Strands, a beautiful shop in our way to downtown. We met Barbara, the owner and we took a picture of the store:

Driving around we saw an Alexander Calder sculpture, and of course I had to take a picture for my "collection":

After that we went to the Centennial Park and saw a group of high school kids playing with the Olympic fountain:

we did a quick tour, it was very nice, and we look forward to coming back next year.

Malabrigo in Arabia

We just shipped our first order to the United Arab Emirates, it seems that knitting is very hot there!

They have a group of knitters there that get together regularly to knit, called very appropriately Desert Knitters.

As my friend Hal likes to say, Knitting is Universal!

Atlanta

We are in Atlanta for the Sitches South show, yesterday we stopped by Needle Nook, a lovely local yarn shop, to pick some boxes up.

We had the opportunity to lunch with the charming Arlene, (the owner of the store and the "owner" of the Arlene's Purple) at a great Thai restaurant that's right besides the store. Thanks Arlene for letting us ship the boxes to your shop, and thanks for all the industry insights you shared.

Needle Nook Front

Arlene made a fantastic shawl out of the Malabrigo Lace in Natural, it is one of the many garments she knitted with our yarns, the pattern is from the Victoria Lace book and uses less than two skeins.

and of course we could not leave without taking a picture at one of the many malabrigo "hotspots" in the store, this one was for the worsted weight

Visits from Nevada!

Sharon from Nevada came visiting last week, she was very excited about the yarn and about all the colors that were available at the warehouse.
Mariana from the lab took her to a tour all around the mill and the warehouse, she could see how we dyed and do all the work.
Sharon got a preview of all the new colors in the making and of course before she left she got herself a few bags of yarn.

She came escorted by a very happy husband who ended up picking up the tab!
